what is the silk road?

The silk road is a long road for people who want to trade things. A ton of towns and trading centers have been built along this huge road. A lot of people use camels to carry all of the things they are wanting to sell. Camels are gross, but if that's what they need to get down the silk road, I'd say its worth it. The silk road spreads from china all the way across Asia, so I'm pretty sure it would be worth having to deal with a camel. The silk road is also one of the oldest and most historically important trade routes.
